PETAL PASSION FOR FUSION CARD CHALLENGE

Tuesday 16 January 2018

Today I'm playing along with this sketch challenge over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog. I'm loving the holidays, less pressure and more time to craft!

For my card I went with the sketch on the left.

As a Display Stamper for Stampin' Up!® in Auckland last year at our On Stage event I was lucky to receive the Petal Palette stamp set to create products to showcase. It's a great set with lots of gorgeous images, a range of sentiments and a selection of co-ordinating thinlits.

The embossing folder is one of two in the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders set. I love it here embossed in the Pool Party cardstock.

Thank You has been stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The frame around the Thank You is one in the Thinlits Dies set I've just shortened it!

The floral image has been stamped with Basic Black ink onto Shimmery White cardstock and coloured using Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red ink and an Aqua Painter. I've then run my Wink of Stella brush over the image. I've also used the Silver Mini Sequin Trim, Silver Metallic Thread and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to create my card.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you have a great day!

CASEING THE CATTY - CTC161 SALE•A•BRATION

Sunday 14 January 2018

Hello and welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing the Sale•A•Bration Brochure. Oh how I love this time of year - lots of free products and three different ways to earn them! Plus it's summer time here in the southern hemisphere so no school and I've taken some time off work!

The Sale•A•Bration Brochure has lots of new inspiration to CASE and I'm looking forward to sharing these with you.

I've chosen to CASE the tag and jar on page 2 of the SAB brochure. Who doesn't like a jar full of sweets?

I thought these would look cute at my up-coming January Occasions and Sale•A•Bration events - I'll just need to fill them up with sweets again!!!

A strip of the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper along the bottom, a pineapple stamped and punched out using the Fruit Basket Bundle and stuck on a Stitched Framelit Circle, then a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits in Daffodil Delight and "hello" stamped in Basic Black create this little tag.

All tied together with Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine and Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

We would love you to join us with your CASE this week, using our Facebook group. Click on the image below to go there. For the first time you'll need to click on the "Join Group" button at the top. After you're added you can post your creation and you don't need to have a blog.

OSAT SALE•A•BRATE THE OCCASION BLOG HOP

Thursday 11 January 2018

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to be participating in my first hop with the OSAT team. You may have arrived here from Dani Dziama's blog or if you have just started, you can navigate through the hop by clicking the Next button at the bottom of this post.

For my project I've chosen to use the Sale•A•Bration Party Pandas stamp set and have teamed it up with the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue.

This stamp set is going to be such a hit as it seems everyone loves pandas!

This image only comes with one balloon so I stamped an extra one and added it to his little fist! The Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins are definitely one of my favourite embellishments from the Occasions catalogue. The Lemon Lime Twist one co-ordinates with the Ticket Tear Border. I've also added a couple of the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

And a little more Ticket Tear Border inside!

And here I've added the little panda to a coaster. To protect the image I've coated it in Mod Podge.

To continue along the hop please click on the next button below which will take you to my lovely and talented friend Jenny Hall.

CAS(E) THIS SKETCH!

Tuesday 9 January 2018

While it's the school holidays here in New Zealand I'm making the most of a little extra time to play along with some different challenges. Today I'm playing along with this sketch challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I love a great sketch and this one is no exception.

For this card I've cut up one of the card bases from the Perennial Birthday Project Kit and added it to a Calypso Coral card base along with a Polka Dot Basics embossed piece at the top. I've wrapped a piece of Flirty Flamingo Baker's Twine around the join and topped it with flowers I've cut out from the printed die-cut accents - also from the Perennial Birthday Project Kit. I know some people will be hyper-ventilating just thinking about cutting these but it really is okay!

Happy Birthday is from the co-ordinating stamp set for this kit - Perennial Birthday and is stamped in Night of Navy. To cut around the Happy Birthday I've used a framelit from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies, I've just made it smaller.

A little bit of stamping in the middle with a leftover flower added and some more Baker's Twine around the base.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back later this week with a couple of projects for a new hop I've been asked to join. I look forward to sharing that exciting news with you.

Have a great week!

CASEING THE CATTY #160 PICTURE PERFECT PARTY

Sunday 7 January 2018

Hello and welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This is our first hop for 2018 and it's great to be back hopping with my fellow CTC crew.

With the 2018 Occasions Catalogue and Sale•A•Bration Brochure just released we've got lots of new inspiration from Stampin' Up! to CASE for you.

This challenge is to Case a project from the Picture Perfect Party Section on pages 4-9. I chose the above card on the left hand side of page 7.

For the base I've used a patterned piece of paper from the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper then layered Tangerine Tango cardstock which has been embossed using the Sparkle embossing folder and topped with a piece of cloud pattern paper also from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP. I also cut some extra clouds and layered them. The sentiment is from the Fruit Basket stamp set and the "mean looking" dragon has been fussy cut from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP. Some Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon, Silver Mini Sequin and Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine add the finishing touches.

We would love you to join us with your CASE this week, using our Facebook group. Click on the image below to go there. For the first time you'll need to click on the "Join Group" button at the top. After you're added you can post your creation and you don't need to have a blog.

MYTHS & MAGIC FOR FMS

Thursday 4 January 2018

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card is for a challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and here's the sketch that inspired my card.

FMS's twist with this sketch "is to keep your project clean-lined and fresh" and there is lots of inspiration from the "Clean Team to get you in the spirit"!

I love the mermaids in the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper so chose one to be the focal point of my card. I picked a circle framelit to go around her and then framed it in a scalloped edge circle of Berry Burst. The Seaside Embossing Folder worked perfectly for the background on the card base and the piece of Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon ties it all in together nicely.

Happy Birthday is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set. This stamp set is going to be a must have from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue - it has great words and fonts. To highlight the water bubbles I've covered them with the clear shapes from the Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes.

To finish off my card I've added a strip of DSP along the bottom of my insert and edged it with some Bermuda Bay cardstock punched using the Ticket Tear Border Punch - I thought it looked a bit like waves! Another mermaid, this time I've fussy cut her - yes I'm in the "I like fussy cutting club" and the sentiment is also from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you'd like more ideas using this sketch be sure to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

AMAZING TUTTI-FRUTTI: TUTORIAL BUNDLE DESIGN TEAM BLOG HOP

Tuesday 2 January 2018

Welcome to our first Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop for 2018! Each month I hop along with this fabulous group of 12 demonstrators from around the world who create an amazing bundle of tutorials. This month our tutorials have been created using products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue which runs from 3 January - 31 March 2018.

The tutorials are based on current products available in the Stampin' Up! catalogues and have both metric and imperial measurements so wherever you are in the world you can purchase and create these exclusive projects. We will be showcasing a project using the same bundle as in our tutorial. It isn't the same project, the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else.

The Tutorial Bundle is $20NZ or place an order over $50NZ this month with me to receive this month's tutorial for free.

This month I'm using the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes, the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies which are all FREE during the annual Sale-a-Bration event. More details below.

The Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes are a set of 16 pre-printed card bases and envelopes. There are 4 each of 4 designs. The card base I've used today is Calypso Coral. "Celebrate" is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies and I've tied a piece of Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine to balance the black wording.

I've stamped the flower from the Amazing You stamp set in Calypso Coral twice and fussy cut it. For the top layer I've cut between the petals to create a 3D look! The leaves, in Lemon Lime Twist, are from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and co-ordinate with the Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins. I've also used a Clear Faceted Gem for the centre of the flower and the little glitter dots are from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes pack.

And here's a sneak peek of what is included in this months tutorial bundle:
