CASEing the Catty #138 - Holidays

Sunday 23 July 2017

Yay it's Sunday again and time for another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing the Holidays section - pages 112-125. You may have arrived here from my new and talented friend Fi - welcome!

I know you are probably thinking but it's only July I've got plenty of time! That time will roll around very quickly so why not get started now?
I love wreaths so I chose the card on the right hand side with the lovely wreath made using the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set.

As I don't have this stamp set I improvised with my Daisy Delight stamp set. I stamped the leaf in Pear Pizzazz to match the striped DSP from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and the little berries have been cut out in Cherry Cobbler cardstock from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.

The Merry Christmas stamp comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set which is an absolute must have set - it has 24 sentiments in various fonts - one for every occasion!

Thanks for stopping by today, please continue along the hop to be inspired by the fabulous projects of my fellow CTC Crew members.

Global Design Project 096 | Case the Designer

Friday 21 July 2017

Welcome to my blog! Today I'm sharing the card I made for this week's Global Design Project 096 | Case the Designer.

The designer being CASED this week is the talented and lovely Tanja Kolar. I just love her style!

"CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit - which means you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set - the colours, the layout, the elements, whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own."

My inspiration came from the layout although I also have the colour blue in my card too! And isn't she adorable? This little girl is from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and reminds me of the vintage scraps my mother collected as a child and has in a scrapbook.

I used the two largest squares in the Stitched Shaped Framelits to cut the squares from the Color Theory DSP stack in Berrry Burst and the "thanks" is from the Weather Together stamp set and has been stamped in Pacific Point. I also embossed the background with the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder, which you can just see!

Remember to head on over to the Global Design Project blog and check out all the fabulous creations made CASEing Tanja.

And have a fabulous weekend!

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Thursday 20 July 2017

Welcome to the third Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid from Christchurch, New Zealand. I hope you enjoy my card which has been CASED page 71 of the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue.

I used the same stamp set "Happiest of Days" (my new favourite) and kept the layout, I just changed the colours and added some different elements. The gold foil on the card base is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate sheets. This product is in the Paper Basics Section of the Catalogue, it has 6 acetate sheets with gold foil on one side, looks silver on the other and comes in 3 designs.

I gold embossed the presents and sentiment to co-ordinate with the Gold Acetate Sheet, added the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon and coloured in using Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach.

The Stampin' Up!® catalogues are full of project ideas, tips and techniques to inspire creativity. I'm always seeing something new or looking at it in a different way!

I hope the card you've seen here has inspired you and brightened your day. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid. Please see the list below and hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You won't want to miss any!

CASEing the Catty #137 - Artistic Expression

Sunday 16 July 2017

Welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. Today's card is from the Artistic Expression section (pages 132-181) of Stampin' Up's! Annual Catalogue.

The Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue is not just a catalogue of products but it is also full of many project ideas, tips and techniques to inspire creativity. I often browse through it and see ideas I hadn't seen before?

The inspiration for my project came from the feather card on the left hand side. I don't have the Feather Together stamp set so instead I coloured and cut out feathers from a sheet of the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I chose feathers of approximately the same size and water-coloured them using my Aqua Painter and Powder Pink, Pool Party and Night of Navy Ink, then fussy cut them out!

Have you tried the Embossing Paste? It is so easy and fun to use (and doesn't make a mess)! I coloured a small amount of paste using Pool Party Ink - about a 2.5cm (1") blob and 1-2 drops of ink, mixed it quickly and applied it over the mask.

I didn't want to cover up all that beautiful embossing so I used a piece of vellum instead. A piece of Pool Party Solid Baker's Twine wrapped around the vellum and tied in a bow sits under the Thank You stamped in Night of Navy from the Daisy Delight stamp set.  The base of my card is in the co-ordinating Powder Pink cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy my card for this week's CTC Challenge. And thanks to everyone for all their support!

Global Design Project 095 | Theme Challenge

Thursday 13 July 2017

Where do the weeks go? It's the first week of the School Holidays here in Christchurch and the weather has been very wet and cold, and it even snowed yesterday - perfect crafting weather!

This week the challenge at the Global Design Project is a theme - Kids.

As I had a few classes for little girls I had ordered the "This Little Piggy" set. Each little girl made a card and bookmark to take home - they loved it! So it seemed the perfect set to use for this challenge.

My little piggy was stamped on the Shimmery White cardstock and water coloured using my Aqua Painter and the Blushing Bride ink. Then fussy cut and adhered to a Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes Framelit circle using dimensionals. The Soft Sky and Very Vanilla background DSP is from the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the "Happy Day" in Soft Sky. It is from the "Happiest of Days" stamp set. As I didn't have room for the whole sentiment I covered the "oh" in washi tape, stamped it on the ink pad, took off the piece of washi and stamped it on the cardstock! You must remember to take off the washi tape before you stamp it!

If you are looking for inspiration on cards for kids make sure you pop over to the Global Design Project and check out all the fabulous projects from everyone.

Take care.

Weather Together

Wednesday 12 July 2017

Hello and welcome to our International Highlights for the month of July. I am among Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world being highlighted by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to vote for my project.

The theme this month is "Gratitude inspired by Thailand", so I looked up Thailand on Pinterest and found this gorgeous photograph of colourful umbrellas in Chiang Mai.

I immediately got out my Weather Together stamp set and the co-ordinating Umbrella Weather Framelits to create this little card with bright umbrellas.

The Happy for You sentiment is from the Hostess set "In the City" and is for Kylie and Bruno as they enjoy their well earned trip to Thailand. The background has been created using the new Embossing Paste and the Cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set. The Embossing Paste is so easy and fun to use!

Thanks for stopping by today. If you like my card please pop over to Kylie Bertucci's blog (using the link below) to vote for me. And thanks to everyone who voted for me last time - I was thrilled to be in the top ten.

CASEing the Catty #136 - Thanks

Sunday 9 July 2017

I'm so excited to announce that I am now a member of the CASEing the Catty Crew! Every week the Crew Case a project from a section of the Stampin' Up! catalogue. This week's inspiration is from the Thanks section on pages 126-131.

The Delightful Daisy Suite is of course my favourite set and just happens to be in the Thanks Section!
I really like the layout of the card in the front so I used that as my inspiration, I just changed the colours.

The Soft Sky and Whisper White herringbone patterned DSP on the base of my card is from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper - I just love it! I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, the outline and the plain one are "full" strength whereas the inside one has been "stamped off" to get a lighter image. The daisy has also been "stamped off" using Berry Burst.

I wrapped a piece of the Classic Weave Ribbon in Soft Sky around the base of my piece of Whisper White cardstock (10cm x 8.5cm) and then tied a bow Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.  The lovely little sentiment is also from the Daisy Delight stamp set and is stamped in Night of Navy.

Three little Rhinestone Basic Jewels give a little sparkle and finish off my card nicely!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed making and sharing it with you!

Memories and More

Thursday 6 July 2017

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I wanted to showcase some fabulous products from the new Annual Catalogue 2017-2018.

The Daisy Delight Bundle is my absolute favourite, it's so cute and versatile. Here I've used the striped paper from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and stamped the daisies in Powder Pink, Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum to make this card.

The Petal Garden Designer Series Paper which I've used for this 50th birthday card also co-ordinates with the Petal Garden Memories and More Card Pack.

And this card uses both the Petal Garden DSP and cards from the Memories & More Card Pack. These are perfect for when you need a card in a hurry - they're super quick and cute!

I also made this heart canvas using the DSP and Memories & More cards. I cut the hearts using the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.

And here's a page I completed for our family album about my mother in law's 90th birthday. No reason for piles of photographs not in albums any more. This page came together very easily and I enjoyed reliving the memories of that day when I did the journaling.

I'm looking forward to giving my customers these boxes tonight when they come for their embossing paste class. I've filled each box up with their supplies for the class.

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack comes in the new 5 In Colors and naturally there is co-ordinating products including the Finely Woven Ribbon I've used to tie around the lid of each box. This box has been made using the Fresh Fig In Color.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing a range of these gorgeous new products. Please contact me if you'd like any further information - I'd love to help.

Global Design Project 094 | Sketch Challenge

Thursday 6 July 2017

This week the challenge at the Global Design Project is a sketch one. It is a great layout with lots of scope for taking it in any direction you like!

With the horizontal lines as the focal point I looked through my DSP supplies and found the Bundle of Love Specialty papers with the gorgeous gold foil designs on one side and the vanilla/blue or pink on the other.

I love my Daisy Delight Bundle and decided on a Night of Navy daisy to complement the gold. I chose the Gold Metallic Thread, Gold Faceted Gems and Gold Foil Sheets from Stampin' Up's! lovely selection of gold accessories to tie it all in.

I coloured the daisy's petals in using my blender pen and ink from the lid of the ink pad.

The "love you" sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy too and is from the Soft Sayings Card Kit. This kit has 10 great sentiments in different fonts and 5 cute floral/leaf stamps. I'm looking forward to using this set not just for the kit but for other projects too.

Make sure you pop over to the Global Design Project and check out all the other fabulous projects from both the designers and participants.

Have a great day!

International Highlights - Top Ten Winners Blog Hop

Wednesday 5 July 2017

Hi and welcome to this exciting and special blog hop for the winners of  Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights. The top ten winners, from all around the world, are participating today and sharing new Baby projects. Thank you to everyone who voted for my card - I was thrilled! You can see that project HERE. Thank you so much Kylie for all the fantastic work you do in bringing us all together!

Again I've used my Welcome Little One stamp set - I love everything about this stamp set from the cute little images to the words in lovely fonts. All these baby cards are making me clucky!

The base of my card is Blushing Bride which co-ordinates with the gorgeous Bundle of Love Specialty DSP. It also comes in Soft Sky with the reverse of all the sheets in gold foil

The tepee was stamped in Blushing Bride, fussy cut and then stuck on with dimensionals.

I gold embossed the draping flowers and leaves, then carefully cut them out before strategically placing them at the top of the tepee.

As I wanted the sentiment in one line rather than two I gold embossed it, trimmed and cut it up then placed the "your" back on top to cover the join! It probably would have been easier to just cut my stamp in half!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you've enjoyed my project. Please check out everyone in the blog hop, the list below will help you to get around to see the fabulous projects - you won't want to miss any.
